HOW IT ALL STARTED…

Founded by two female entrepreneurs, TalentMinded remains a privately-owned company that was born out of a profound recognition of the gaps in the talent acquisition solutions market. With a passion for critical thinking and a shared belief that there had to be a better way, our journey began.

We try to never take ourselves too seriously. Here we are, TalentMinded’s Founders, Kim and Emma (who doesn’t like getting her picture taken!), celebrating our 5th anniversary on a boat cruise through the Toronto Islands.

Combining over 40 years of collective experience across various realms of the talent acquisition landscape – from in-house corporate roles and agency positions to public sector engagements and startup ventures – we were equipped with a wealth of knowledge and a drive to effect meaningful change.

At the core of our vision was the understanding that building strong relationships with both our clients and candidates was paramount to meeting their needs. Our early days in temporary recruiting and sales illuminated the importance of earning candidates' trust and understanding their expectations, especially in the face of rising demands for great talent.

Upon surveying the landscape, it became evident that traditional recruitment process outsourcing and staffing firms were lacking in innovation and strategic insights, while high-end professional consulting firms often provided roadmaps without practical implementation. The void was unmistakable, and we felt compelled to fill it.

In 2015, immersed in recruitment and solving talent acquisition challenges one by one, we acknowledged the pressing need for a more scalable and value-added model. Our clients craved a solution that would significantly reduce their time and cost to hire, impart intelligence on effective hiring practices, and provide that vital missing element: the employer value proposition.
